When you install and use our VAT Switcher app, we process:
- Shop Domain: Your Shopify store's domain name to identify your account
- VAT Rate Configurations: Country-specific VAT rates, percentages, and tax settings you configure
- Translation Settings: Your VAT switcher texts, popup translations, and price display translations for different languages
- App Settings: Your preferences for VAT switcher display, customer type popup settings, and price display configurations
- Access Credentials: Required for secure communication with your Shopify store
Important: Your VAT rate and translation data is stored directly in your Shopify store's metafields, not in an external database that we control. This data is used solely to display correct tax information to your customers based on their location or customer type.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Store and manage your VAT rate configurations for different countries
- Display product prices with and without VAT rates on your store's product pages based on customer location or country
- Show VAT switchers that allow customers to toggle between prices with and without VAT
- Manage multi-language translations for VAT switcher elements
- Process customer type selections and display appropriate price information (with or without VAT)
- Provide the app functionality you've requested
- Maintain app performance and reliability
Data Storage & Security
- Your VAT rates, translations, and settings are stored in your Shopify store's metafields
- This keeps your configuration within your Shopify account and covered by Shopify's security
- All data transmissions are encrypted (HTTPS)
- We never sell or share your data with third parties
- Your VAT rate data is specific to your shop and is not accessible to other app users
Your Rights
You can:
- View and modify your VAT rates anytime through the app
- Edit or delete individual VAT rate configurations
- Manage your translation settings and texts
- Uninstall the app to stop all data processing
What We Don't Collect
We do not:
- Track your customers' personal information or browsing behavior
- Monitor individual customer purchases or order details
- Access your financial or payment data
- Store customer tax selections or preferences beyond what's necessary for the current session
- Collect customer email addresses or personal details
- Share your VAT rate configurations with other merchants or third parties
Data Retention
- Your VAT rate configurations and settings remain in your shop's metafields while the app is installed
- Translation data is stored in metafields to maintain your multi-language support
- You can delete individual VAT rates or translations at any time through the app interface
